Hello, I'm a newly-graduated teacher and I've just been posted to teach Indonesian in senior school. The trouble is, I'm not a language teacher, but they gave me the job anyway because I'm a native speaker of Indonesian. How do I go about teaching the language?

Hints and tips appreciated, as well as links to language resources and lesson plans that I can start with. School starts in 5 days...ARRRGGGHHH

Most common meaning most used, besides salam. by Most used i also mean in the language that is spoken by most indonesians besides arabic and english.

I assume Barack Obama learned Indonesian when he studied there
as a boy. Does he know the languages of Kenya? What other
languages does he know? Did his stepfather taught him arabic.

Compared to other Asian languages, Indonesian seems very different. First of all, Indonesian uses Latin alphabet unlike many languages in Asia that use characters of their own (Chinese and Arabic for instance). In addition, a lot of Indonesian words come from other language making it more similar to a European language rather than an Asian language. Also I've heard that Indonesian is easier to learn rather than other Asian languages. Finally, Indonesian has fairly easy grammar. Why it is not similar to most Asian language?

Brief conceptual overview of the PAR model (what it is, what it does)
Brief description of the Trigger Event(Hazard)
Brief Description of the Disaster (lives lost, financial losses etc.)
Apply the PAR model to:
Identify and discuss root causes, dynamic pressures, unsafe conditions
Conclude with a critical assessment of PAR

The immersion method is out, as I can't take the time off work to travel there. And there are no Indonesian classes where I live!

Hey my name is Alex and I'm 14 years old. I speak 4 languages: French, English, Spanish, and Hungarian, but I also want to learn to speak Indonesian because one day I want to live and work there. I have a best friend whose Indonesian and maybe I can practice the languiage with her? Or if there are any online websites that help teach you Indonesian in 1-4 years.

Well I am in the National Guard and am going to have to learn another language and it will probably be something in the south pacific like Indonesian, but I really want to learn Russian. So how hard would it be to learn both. I would be learning Russian now and would be learning Indonesian in about a year or so.
