Indonesian was my most fluent language (it was my first language) but when I left Indonesia, I forgot the whole language. Its been 7 years, but can I still get it back?
And I don't mean relearn the whole language like a new one. I mean like remember it with a bit of practice?

i'm writing a thesis about language in mass communication. im an indonesian. in indonesia people start to use english in media when communicating with local people--which i find inappropriate and irrelevant. the mass media gives bad influence about indonesian language. the term indonenglish now is very popular. this term tries to describe the condition of indonesian language in indonesia. this has to do with culture because i think using english (foreign language) to your own mates who speak indonesians indicates how weak indonesian culture to its people--indonesians. The tendency of indonesians in media to use foreign language (english) when communicating with indonesians has become a habit, and will eventually be a culture.

So this really cute guy on facebook requested to be my friend and he is from Indonesia. It seems like he can speak some English but it is really choppy. So I want to tell him that I think he is cute. However, I do not know how to say it in the Indonesian language and I cannot find a translater website on the internet that will translate this from English to Indonesian. I can understand why European languages use it, but why Indonesian and Vietnamese? Don't they have their own script? What historic event caused them to adopt it?
If the answer is the Dutch and French colonisers, I say, Bengali and Hindu kept their own script when the British came, what is different about Indonesia and Vietnam?

I'm a Malaysian lady ,in a relationship with Bandung,Indonesian guy..for almost 2 years..he is Japan working and Im still in Malaysia working to.We communicate via YM almost everyday 24 hours.webcam and voice call.we love each other so much..untill....the current crisis between Malaysia and Indonesia...both of us starts to talk about it..and end up arguing..and both of us try our best to protect our own country T__T sad..frightened...wat should i do...both of us are emotional...but what should i do to protect our relation ship...n does this love between two conflict counrty gonna work out T__T

I went to Indonesia some months ago with my Nuna (my older sister). We went to Jakarta and met some Indonesian girls. They looked surprised when Nuna and I were speaking Korean language. And then, one of the girl asked us to chat with them. They asked us about our names, South Korea, and so many things about Korean and Boys Over Flowers drama, kk. I don't interested on those questions. So, I left them. They looked disappointed on the time, kk.

Well, I've lived there some years ago and I lived in Lippo Karawaci, where many Korean people live there. I'm studied at international school and never been anywere in Indonesia, except to my residential and school areas, kk. My friends mostly Korean, Chinese or Western. I rarely used to talk with Indonesian people. So, I was very surprised with the Indonesian girl's attitude to Korean people.

One more, I've chat with a girl from Indonesia on MSN. She said that she could speak Korean and wrote it to me. You know what? She used Google Translate to write Korean language! Kkkkk.

So, what do you think about them? Are mostly Indonesian girls being crazy about Korean?

I have two friends who live in indonesia who I can practice with... but that's not their job and I don't think they would like to spend the whole time we talk explaining indonesian. I found a really helpful site that helped me learn colors, but beyond that I believe you need a textbook. I'm not really in a position to spend any money right now. Any good free sites out there?
