My dad married a Indonesian woman about 3 yrs ago, and since then the live together, my parents are divorced, so me and my sister visit our dad during the holidays. Last year my sister was having problems in the last place we lived (kentucky) so she went to live with my dad, that didnt last long because my sister and my stepmom got into a fight, for instance one fight started because my stepmom put a bowl that my sister didnt wash on the stairs and my sister slipped and fell because of the bowl.So my sister came back to kentucky.
I personally have always had good experiences with my stepmom, but this school year i moved here with my dad because i wanted to spend time with him before i go to college. So im living here and im getting what my sister was saying, because at first i thought it was my sisters fault because she didnt talk to my stepmom, or cleaned. Before i came to move here i made an effort to learn about her culture, and i actualy got realy into it, but she is always mean.
I have talked to my dad about it, and he said that she looks at if my room, as if its dirty, im disrespecting her, but i think its immature to treat differently somebody based on their room, i mean come on! im a teenager! Im not saying that all indonesian people are mean b/c ive been to the indonesian party's at the counsel and they are really nice.
more details: when ever we are by our selves at home i get nervous around her because she puts of this mean vibe. so i dont realy talk to her, everything she says is usaly scolding or a one answer grunt. i don't besides from my room being dirty there is nothing i do wrong to her, and all my family thinks so too. b/c i am the most friendly person in my family.
